We are meeting throughout each day with local, state and federal officials and will continue to advise our tourism industry partners, local businesses and area visitors on any new developments. The oil spill has not impacted our beaches. Wind and current conditions are keeping the oil spill away from Florida?s coastline. We cannot forecast beyond 3-5 days, but have no reasons to believe we will be adversely affected at this point. We will keep you posted should that change.

Right now, everything is open, and it?s business - and pleasure - as usual. We have not been impacted by the oil spill. We wish we could give you a more definite answer, but the best we can do is update you with what we find out daily.

Gulf County has developed an extensive protective plan that will help protect and clean all beaches, bays and interior waterways in the event that oil should sometime come our way. The plan includes multiple levels of hard, soft and absorption boom.
